- This Aura R70 is, quite simply, a heck of a lot of notebook for your bidding pound.
- Let's take a tour:
- First it has Intel's new Santa Rosa platform - which as you'll know from all that research you've been doing into the world of notebooks, is the only platform to have, being the very latest, new and improved version of Intel's Centrino platform. Santa Rosa brings with it a raft of goodies to make life with a notebook even better.
- Intel has again lifted the whole game with Santa Rosa, as they did with Centrino back in 2003... Now the processing speed is accelerated, battery usage is prolonged, there's smooth as silk video playback and wi-fi speeds are the quickest yet.
- As you've guessed: this Samsung Aura R70 is one of the very first Santa Rosa notebooks available on the market.
- And while the Aura R70 doesn't behave like a sensibly priced notebook (the Core 2 Duo Chip gives a cool 1.8GHz and 2MB of shared cache), it certainly doesn't look like one either:
- There's the beautiful glossy black lid, followed by an understated matt black interior, complemented further by a glossy 15.4inch screen. And the screen really makes the most of the vivid colours of the Vista software loaded on the R70 too.
