• You don't have to love gaming to know that Sony's long awaited PlayStation 3 has landed.  
   
• And Sony says that this console not only ushers in a whole new era of gaming, it is one that is built to last for years to come. Here's how: 
   
  
  • First, a 'Cell Processor' - an incredibly powerful 'supercomputer' processing system, never seen in home systems before and able to handle just about anything those game designers care to throw at it.
     
  • Next, 'The Perfect Match' between the portable PSP and the PlayStation 3 (PS3) console: download music, videos or access the internet on your PSP via the PS3. It's all about entertainment on the go - and wirelessly too!
     
  • The 'Controller': it looks a lot like Sony's DualShock controller of old but this one is wireless and adds all sorts of new, interactive features. 
     
  •  'High Definition': the PS3 makes the most of your HD-ready TV but if you haven't bid on one yet, good news: the PS3 supports all resolutions - from your traditional TV all the way up to the latest 1080p HD displays.
     
  • 'Real Time' processing: means games can react and change to what's happening as they're played. So rather than following a pre-determined routine, the games are far more interactive and less predictable.
     
  • 'Raising the Bar': refers to the cinematic lengths Sony has gone to, to produce astonishingly life-like characters and complex worlds.
     
  • 'Blu-Ray' technology: gives huge amounts of space to store data. So when the next generation of games are developed, PS3 is ready and waiting for them.
