What is a High Bid Auction?
Highest bid wins
When the auction closes on the given date, the highest bid wins.
Non-binding
You don't have to go ahead with your bid if you win.
Multiple winners
On some Lots we can accept more than one winner (more below).
Sealed bids
No one else can see your bid.
OK, what happens next?
If you win
We will contact you by phone and by email.
If you don't win
You will have other chances to bid again, this time with no entry fee.
Tell me the bad news
Entry fees
The trouble with this system is it can attract time wasters. So we are very sorry, but you do have to pay an entry fee to bid...
You may bid for as many items as you want and the
more
bids you make, the
less
each bid costs:
£5 for one bid
£15 for five bids
£30 for
as many bids as you like
Any other good news?
Yes. Our
multiple winner
Lots!
On many auction Lots there is a
Secret Price
where every bid above that figure will win. So in some cases there can be tens or even hundreds of winners - all paying the price they have named.
Also, if we receive less than 50 bids for any item, then a
Special Reserve
can apply. When that happens, you will be offered the chance to match that price from your
My Account
page.
Both of the above mechanisms mean you are almost guaranteed to secure yourself the chance of a
remarkable bargain
, without the obligation to go ahead, just for the cost of your entry fee.
Lot Fulfilment
Our auctions are
based in the UK
but holidays, weekends and experiences are frequently bought by our overseas customers.
We can also arrange for you to collect your item from any location in the UK that you choose. Alternatively we can arrange delivery of any items that you purchase to
anywhere in the world
that you specify. If you choose this option, we will quote shipping costs, but of course you will be responsible for any local import taxes/duties.
