• The journey to little explored reaches of Northern India will take you from bustling Delhi, up to Shimla amongst the shimmering cypress and pine trees, on through tea gardens to Dharamshala - now the home to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his government in exile, and then finally to Amritsar and the breathtaking Golden Temple.

• Throughout the journey you will be staying in 4-star or 5-star accommodation - and in each destination - no matter how remote -  the properties where you will be staying have been carefully vetted for service, cleanliness and comfort.
   
• You will also be accompanied by your own expert guide at each destination and met and transferred in comfortable vehicles so that you will get the absolute most you can from this incredible journey.

• So here's the itinerary...
   
• Day 1 – Arrive in Delhi where you will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel.  Take a chance to relax a little, get your bearings and begin to explore this extraordinary city.
   
• Day 2 – Delhi – tour both New and Old Delhi - a day of fairly mind-blowing sights. sounds and experiences.
   
• Day 3 – You are off to Delhi train station …
  to embark on the Shatabdi Express for our journey to Shimla via Kalka.
   
  At Kalka, you will transfer to the famous Toy Train, a narrow gauge line covering almost 100km, where the top speed rarely exceeds 20 mph.
   
  On arrival in Shimla, you will be met from your carriage and transferred to your hotel for a three night stay.
    
• Days 4 & 5 – enjoying delightful Shimla – a place for nature walks, yoga, history, golf, riding, ayruvedic spa treatments and more...

• Day 6 – Shimla to Taragarh where you will break your journey for a night at the Taragarh Palace surrounded by tea gardens. The Kangra valley, one of the most scenic and unexplored areas of Himachal Pradesh. Located at a height of 1000 metres, Taragarh Palace is at the foot of the Dhauladhar Mountains with splendid views of surrounding snow-capped peaks.
   
• Day 7 – Travel from Taragarh to Dharamshala
  Today you arrive in Dharamshala…
  Dharamshala has been connected with Buddhism for centuries, with monasteries having been established there well,... just about forever, as far as we can make out!
   
  When the Dalai Lama left Tibet, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru offered Dharamshala as a site where he might establish his "government-in-exile. Since then, many native Tibetan exiles have settled in the town establishing temples and schools. So little wonder, the town is sometimes known as "Little Lhasa."
   
• Day 8 – Touring Dharamshala including the Temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
   
• Day 9 – Dharamshala to Amritsar – the holiest of Sikh sites where you will visit the breathtaking Golden Temple and take in the mesmerising sight of it lit at night.

• Day 10 – After a little more time in Amritsar soaking up the atmosphere, you will board your flight for Delhi to connect with you onward flight home…
