How it works

  • We are offering you the chance to commission your own piece of bespoke Andrew Varah furniture.

Console table in wenge and stainless steel with a glass top.
Andrew Varah was awarded a Guildmark from
The Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers for this piece.

  • A piece of Varah furniture is something to be sought after.  He is of course far too discreet to name-drop, but rest assured that Andrew Varah's furniture graces the houses of the great, the good and a fair few famous.

Sofa Table in Arigre, Rosewood and Holly
  • He is the designer applauded by the likes of Linley, considered amongst the aristocracy of furniture design.  And in fact, Linley has selected some of Varah's pieces to showcase in his recent glossy book on furniture design.

Card and games table with inlay work both on 'card' plinth and on the table's top

  • One glance around Andrew Varahs's studio shows a life devoted to bringing beautiful furniture to life - furniture that perfectly reflects his clients, their lives, personal tastes and surroundings.

The Umbrella Men wardrobe. The umbrella handles act as door handles.
The door fronts are inlaid in various veneers.

  • This is a very rare chance to become that client.  With the £4,000 credit on offer here, you will be able to commission your own piece (or put the credit towards a commission).  As the winning bidder the process will begin with a meeting at which you will get to know Andrew Varah but most importantly, he will get to know you, your surroundings and your ideas of the sort of piece that might work for you and your space.  As a result, the process is extremely personal and exclusive to you.

A console table, from one remarkable oak branch
(during its growth, the oak produced two branches which then grew back together and rejoined)

  • He will produce scale drawings and fine tune your exact requirements.  From there you will get to select the wood to be used from an amazing selection of samples.  Colours range from sleek dark timbers to pale blonde and rich reds with romantic names like ripple or quilted maple, burr oak or ash, fiddleback makore, Nigerian pommele sapele burr.  And all along the way Andrew Varah will be there to guide and advise you.

Infinity Model to store CDs in Avodire and Madrona Burr
  • And for the ultimate personal touch: if you are the winning bidder, once your furniture is complete, you will also receive a beautifully bound, hard back book, personally inscribed to you by Andrew Varah.  This book will again be a one-off and completely unique.  The book will include magnificently photographed examples of Varah's work but best of all, your own commissioned piece of Andrew Varah furniture will have been photographed and showcased in the book too.

Varah's commissions can include exquisite humidors (with a brass humidor
to maintain the moisture level for cigars), as well as personalised boxes
for letters, jewellery, collectors items and keepsakes.

  • Ultimately, the result will be a piece of furniture to treasure for your lifetime and long, long after.  With Andrew Varah, you will have created something lasting and completely unique - and not just because it is a superb one-off piece but because it is a reflection of you.

Dressing table, mirror and stool, in rosewood and myrtle burr.

This is the chance of a lifetime - don't miss out and get your bid in now!
